The Laois Federation of Tidy Towns was established in 1998 and currently has 32 registered groups. Through their dedicated team of volunteers, they enhance and conserve their local area which is a great support to Laois County Council and the communities where they operate. The benefit of their work can also be appreciated by visitors to their areas.

Groups that get involved in the national competition work on a variety of environmental initiatives including community engagement, biodiversity, sustainable waste and resource management as well as litter control. Every year, their combined efforts help to make Laois a more sustainable county.

Volunteers are always welcome whether to work on one-off projects or on a more ongoing basis. If you are interested in getting involved, please do! Check local press for information or contact the Environment Section of Laois County Council regarding projects in your area.
